XSTREAM ON DEMAND
XSTREAM Broadcasting Networks’s On-Demand Streaming service optimizes both the user experience and your Web Site. XSTREAM provides you with enabling technology from industry leaders such as Cisco Systems. We provide you and your video files with scalable delivery services and superior performance for your end viewers. XSTREAM's content delivery is enhanced by strategic technologies that can be expanded to include distributed architecture through caching and mirroring. A high quality user experience is achieved by distributing media files using our streaming technology because streams are not interrupted by Internet congestion or bottlenecks. Buffering time are also reduced so media starts promptly.

Our Data centers provide 24/7 server operation. Due to our proximity to two of the world's largest Tier-1 Internet backbones, scaling broadband is fast and cost effective. The strategic placement of our data centers on the backbones of these providers allows us to bypass the bottlenecks and slowdowns of the local loop infrastructure resulting in improved efficiency and reduced Costs. The end result is reliable, high quality On-Demand Streaming services from XSTREAM.

XSTREAM's executive team has comprehensive, in-depth knowledge of all aspects of streaming media. Many companies have experts in their core competency, very few are experts in all the disciplines of streaming media. XSTREAM developed expertise in all areas by creating some of the most comprehensive and advanced streaming applications. Subsequently, we can advise you in all areas including but not limited to the following:

  • Accessing all of your streaming media options. For example, accessing your in-house capabilities to determine if it is best to develop your initiatives in-house with XSTREAM's assistance or contract all or a portion of your initiatives to XSTREAM.
  • Determining when to implement your streaming initiatives
  • Choosing the streaming applications that provide the highest ROI
  • The advantages of quality encoding and the associated cost savings
  • Choosing the best and correct number of player formats (i.e. Windows Media Player? Real Player? Quicktime? one format, two formats, or all three formats?)
  • Choosing effective video segment lengths
  • Production recommendations
  • Integrating streaming media with existing capabilities
  • Customized applications such as interactive video applications

Making the right decisions early will save you significant time and can result in saving thousands of dollars. Whether you decide to utilize XSTREAM's full service offering or contract for partial services, take advantage of XSTREAM's extensive knowledge before you move forward with your streaming initiatives.

NETWORK OPERATIONS CENTER
Xstream Broadcasting’s Network Operations Center provides the physical environment necessary to keep our servers up and running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We are located in world-class facilities which are custom designed with HVAC temperature control systems with separate cooling zones and seismically braced racks. The facility offers the widest range of physical security features, including state-of-the-art smoke detection and fire suppression systems, motion sensors, and 24x7 secured access, as well as video camera surveillance and security breach alarms.

Within these facilities, we are able to deliver the highest levels of reliability through a number of redundant subsystems, such as multiple fiber trunks coming into the facility from multiple sources, fully redundant power on the premises, and multiple backup generators. Xstream Broadcasting currently operates its network facility in the New York metropolitan area, with close proximity to major public and private interconnects to maximize connectivity rate and overall site performance.

Finally, our Operations Center combines around-the-clock systems management with onsite personnel trained in the areas of networking, Internet, and systems management. The result is a physical and technical environment which offers our customers the reliability and flexibility necessary to outsource their streaming and collocation operations.

NETWORK ARCHITECTURE AND SCALABILITY
The Xstream Broadcasting Network today has a peak Internet exchange rate which is burstable to over 622 megabits per second (OC-12). Comprising the Xstream Broadcasting Network is a backbone with a high performance network architecture and industry-leading public and private interconnect arrangements—the allied strengths of which are fundamental to delivering the outstanding levels of performance and service to both our customers and yours, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our high performance, dedicated, and redundant backbone network connects our facility using multiple high-speed OC-3 lines which virtually eliminate the risk of a single point of failure.

Within our Internet Center, our LAN architecture scales at a pace equally aggressive to the increase of our customers' bandwidth requirements. Our architecture allows us to scale in anticipation of customer demand. At the same time, we are advancing our Internet node architecture by moving towards more reliable and far more powerful routers.

The Xstream Broadcasting Network achieves its greatest strength with one of the industry's most comprehensive sets of public and private network interconnects. With a high concentration in private connections with major ISPs and Tier-1 providers, Xstream Broadcasting empowers superior speed and dependability by way of these greatly preferred private routes.

Each of these elements together provide the reliability, performance and scalability required to give you peace of mind and the freedom to focus on your core business.

Xstream Broadcasting’s Backbone globally links its Internet Center with fiber paths from multiple vendors, ranging in speed from T-3 (45Mbps) to OC-3 (155Mbps). This "mesh" configuration eliminates single point-to-point fiber link failures to ensure the redundancy allowing for uninterrupted flow of data across the network.
The Xstream Broadcasting Internet network architecture continues to show unprecedented customer growth in the emerging streaming video markets and is well positioned to offer the highest levels of service to network service providers and corporate customers worldwide.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
Xstream Broadcasting Network’s facility is engineered to conform to high industry standards that define a rigid and extensive set of performance, quality, environmental and safety requirements. This includes constant power availability, temperature and humidity control and high security.

Power
Xstream Broadcasting Network’s power systems are designed to ensure uninterrupted service. The UPS system is deployed in a parallel redundant configuration with N+1 modules. Generator backup is provided for up to 100% of peak load with a fuel supply of 24 hours. There is the provision for backup refueling contracts if there is an extended utility failure.

Environmental Controls
Environmental systems are engineered to provide the functionality and redundancy required for our staff and optimum equipment operability. The data grade HVAC system has N+1 redundancy. There is constant ambient air temperature of 72° (+ or - 2 degrees). Humidity is controlled to a constant 45% (+ or - 5 %).

Security
Xstream Broadcasting Network’s facility provides multiple layers of physical and technological security required by our customers. Facility is staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Access to the facility and server cages are controlled by biometric palm scanners in conjunction with proximity card readers. All cabinets and cage spaces are locking and the level of security can be upgraded by customer request. Facilities are monitored via closed circuit digital camera coverage with 24 hour recording and 30 day digital video storage. Facilities are equipped with centralized security stations.

24 Hour Critical Systems Monitoring/Disaster Prevention
Not only are the various systems designed with redundancy to ensure continuous service, but also have the added reliability of 24-hour critical systems monitoring to solve potential problems before they escalate. All systems (including UPS, DC Power, PDU, HVAC, Temperature, Humidity, Security, Fire Threat) are constantly checked by a web-based monitoring system. Fire detection is managed with a VESDA air sampling system. Dry-pipe pre-action systems complement the front-line detection system.
